PROJECT: REHABILITATION OF NICOSIA MUNICIPAL THEATER

Description of the Project/Objectives:

With the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund, the Nicosia Municipal Theater was fully restored and transformed into a modern theater with a proper infrastructure for high-level theatrical and musical performances, being the largest theater in Cyprus with a total capacity of 1000 seats.

As part of the project, the interior and exterior spaces of the building were completely remodeled, which include, among others, theatrical stage operation, acoustics, theater lighting and sound systems, the supply and installation of all theater furnishings and equipment. etc.

Expected Results: ΤThe project aims to promote the cultural infrastructure of the city of Nicosia, as well as to create a modern, timeless cultural space. The benefits, however, are more general and aim at the economic, cultural and social rejuvenation of the area. The location of the theater in the city center helps to achieve a functional and aesthetic upgrade of the area in general.

Total Budget (€): 8.4 mln

ERDF Contribution: 85%
