Examples of Projects

Description of the Project/ Objectives: 

1. Creation of two additional Disability Assessment  Centres in Limassol and Larnaca in order  to serve a larger number of applicants.
   
2. Continuation of the Operation of the Disability Assessment Center in Nicosia as well as the continuation of  the Assessment System Management Unit.
   
3. Continuation, extension and systematization of  the implementation of the scientific ICF tool (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) of the World Health Organization, for a scientific and mutually acceptable assessment of disability.
   

Expected Results:

1. Achievement of  a larger number of evaluations in a shorter time.
   
2. Reduce of  the trouble caused to people with disabilities who reside in Lemesos - Pafos, Larnaca – Ammochostos. 
   
3. Improvement of  the quality of service to citizens with disabilities, through a modern, scientific and reliable evaluation mechanism.
   
4. Strengthening knowledge and disability understanding and enhancing transparency, objectivity and professionalism, in terms of disability management for the benefit primarily of persons with disabilities, as well as government departments and professionals involved in disability.
5. Creation of a scientifically documented database in relation to the disability situation, needs and possibilities of persons with disabilities and gradually the creation of a National Registry of Persons with Disabilities in Cyprus. Implementation Period: 01/01/2015 – 31/12/2018
